NGO GARIWO successfully held a lecture about civil courage and non-violent resistance for pupils and teachers at the Gymnasium Dobrinja. Ognjen Tomic, GARIWO's Program Manager, talked about symbols of civil courage, their non-violent resistance and confonting to negative authorities. In the followed discussion , participants shared their own perception of civil courage and experiences related to civil courage.

 A group of professors promoted by Department of Education, Section on "Cooperation, Solidarity, and Peace" from the Autonomous Province of Trento, Italy visited GARIWO during a professional development trip called "Between East and West: Suggestions and Conflicts in the Heart of Europe." Director of NGO GARIWO Sarajevo Dr. Svetlana Broz delivered a lecture about civil courage to these Italian professors, but mostly discussed her experiences related to activities that GARIWO has hosted across Bosnia and Herzegovina. Professors were interested in the obstacles and challenges GARIWO's staff has faced in preparing and implementing lectures, given the complex nature of the B&H educational system. Dr. Broz stressed the results of our work, especially the establishment of three new NGOs by students of the GARIWO School of Civil Courage.

 In the premises of Jovan Ducic primary school in Kasindo nearby Sarajevo, GARIWO successfully held the lecture about civil courage for members of Italian scouting association called AGESCI (Associazione Guide e Scouts Cattolici Italiani). Lecturer Mr. Ognjen Tomic, Program Manager of NGO GARIWO, talked about GARIWO's previous work, as well as current and future activities regarding education about civil courage . In discussion followed AGESCI members were truly intrested in GARIWO's mission and topics related to civil courage.
Again, this is AGESCI's 11th visit to Sarajevo. They have been implementing progrom called Progetto Sarajevo since 1997.

HE Ahmed Khattab, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt accompanied by Mr. Ahmed Khafagy, 3rd Secretary and Political officer, paid his first official visit to NGO GARIWO Sarajevo. Director Dr Svetlana Broz and members of GARIWO Team hosted HE Ahmed Khattab and introduce him with organization's previous work, as well as current and future activities. In discussion followed by presentation of GARIWO's program Education Towards Civil Courage, HE Ahmed Khattab fully supported this program and brought out his suggestions regarding different issues and lectures about civil courage, as well as about real potential of possible collaboration between institutions in Arab Republic of Egypt and NGO GARIWO.

  Director of NGO GARIWO Sarajevo, Dr Svetlana Broz, accompanied by Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway, HE Jan Braathu, held a lecture about civil courage on the international youth camp called Youth Culture: Fundament of Democracy, organized by Cooperation and Development Network for Eastern Europe and Youth Movement REVOLT from Tuzla.The lecture took place at Zlace, near Banovici, on July 23, attended by 52 young people from 22 European countries, between the age of 18 and 27. Dr. Broz and HE Jan Braathu delivered the lecture about the importance of raising awareness on civil courage and non-violent resistance to negative authorities. In the discussion that followed, some participants shared their own experiences related to civil courage.
