GARIWO

Foundation Imam petlju Gariwo has organised an AVP seminar and lecture on civil courage on Bjelasnica mountain on 14-16 December, 2009. The seminar and lecture were attended by twenty three students from the region: Slovenia, Monte-Negro and different parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At the seminar, participants learnt about non-violent ways of solving problems, non-violent communication and non-violent disobedience towards negative authorities. At the lecture on civil courage, participants were familiarised with the definition of civil courage, examples of civil courage in the country and the region and with „Dusko Kondor Award“. Following the lectures, participants will write essays on civil courage, while the most active participants of the seminar will be invited to attend „School of Civil Courage“ which will be organised in March of 2010.

The website on study and scholarship offers for BH students by EU countries called Studiraj Vani (Study Abroad) will be officialy launched on Monday, 21 December 2009. Earlier the same day, Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Bosnia and Herzegovina will present the website to the public.

NGO Gariwo and Foundation Imam petlju Gariwo held a lecture on civil courage with Mr. Lazar Manojlovic on December 14, 2009 at at Faculty of Educational Sciences Sarajevo. The lecture was attended by over 70 students and their professors.

Participants were introduced to Mr. Manojlovic's main life accomplishments, as well as the concept and examples of civil courage and the Dusko Kondor Award for Civil Courage that Gariwo awards annually. Mr. Lazar Manojlovic shared his experience with civil courage and gave recommendations and life advice to the participants who are the future or present teachers in society. Participants were very interested and impacted by the lecture.

In Dom Oruzanih snaga BiH in Sarajevo, a special ceremony was held promoting volunteers of NGO Gariwo and Foundation Imam petlju Gariwo titled: NGO GARIWO and Foundation Imam petlju Gariwo present Volunteers-young talents.

NGO Gariwo and Foundation Imam petlju Gariwo have, hereby, officially started the program of promotion of volunteers, young talents of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in order for their remarkable, but often unnoticed qualities to be promoted to the public and brought closer to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
